A Quick Look at Bucharest...

What can I say about Bucharest?  First, I need to point out that our visit here was very short.  We were only in the city for two nights, which didn't give us much time to explore.  Plus, we encountered some rainy weather during our brief time here.  I can tell you that once we got out walking, we did see many old, majestic looking buildings...and more than a fair amount of old, dilapidated buildings.  Here's a very quick look at Bucharest...

I loved this building...but never did find out what it is used for.
Below is a picture of the same building lit up at night.

We saw quite a few buildings that looked like this...

A lovely bookstore and cafe that we visited during our stay.

A covered passageway that reminded us of the ones we saw in Paris.
We always look for a park near by where we can do some walking.  Like most European cities...Bucharest did not disappoint us.  Although this park could definitely use a little TLC, it still was pretty.  It's always nice to see a little green when you are surrounded by concrete.  This park was just a ten minute walk from our hotel.

We saw lots of old, stately looking trees.

And...literally hundreds of park benches

One of the nicer restaurants found inside the park.
While we were here, we had a chance to eat at Caru' cu Bere, one of the more popular restaurants in the city.  The food was delicious and the atmosphere equally as good.

Live music entertains you while you eat.

Bucharest wasn't my favorite city in Romania, but I'm glad I had a chance to see it.

  1. Hi Kathy and Lance!
I looked up the building you really liked and it happens to be a bank! It's beautiful both in the day and nighttime. Here's a link about the building: https://visitorcenter.ro/tour/cec/
Love your photos. I can't believe all that you are seeing and experiencing!
